Anecdotal information

Back in the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, Camphor Balm was strongly recommended if you suffered from stitch in the side, stiff neck, lame back or a strained muscle in which you caught a cold that makes the affected part very painful and stiff. To treat the ailment, you massaged the Camphor Balm into the affected area and then covered with a hot flannel or compress. The treatment aids the circulation in removing the congestion and repairing the injury.
